Winter Challenge

Starts: November 23rd, 2024 
Ends: March 15th, 2024

We will continue with our competition "30 under 30 (or below i.e. inclusive of 30, also based on windchill not just exclusively ambient temperature)" as well as "coldest day". But this year...with stickers! 

Stack as many hats on Ol' Norb as you can manage. Each hat is a winter run and most hats wins! Get at least 30 hats to qualify for a winter challenge bounty.

Rules:

  1. Sign up with the quartermaster (marguliw@gmail.com)

  2. Run when it is cold -- Days with a wind chill at or below 30F

  3. Count up all those runs (track them with stickers)

  4. Bonus: Record your coldest run of the year!


Naismith Classic

Starts: November 23rd, 2024 
Ends: March 15th, 2024

The Naismith is a unit of measure invented by the NNRC to embody the perfect balance between horizontal speed and vertical distance. The Naismith challenge is a competition to see who can run 1 Naismith the fastest and / or who can run the most Naismith Units in an hour.

A Naismith Unit
A Naismith is a unit of measure. It is defined as 3 miles in distance and 2,000 vertical feet.

Rules:

  1. Attempt a single Naismith (3 miles, 2,000 vertical feet) or a 1 hour challenge (most Naismith in an hour) any time between the dates above.

  2. Submit your score to the quartermaster

  3. Scores will be added to the running leader board.

The No Name Running Club was founded accidentally and involuntarily one morning in Central Park…and also some other times. It is the worlds least prestigious running club. Membership has no benefits and quite a few consequences. Sometimes we host events like….
